I am both delighted and honoured to be chairing the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto and look forward to working with our dedicated Board and Committees. The Jewish Foundation is at the core of a strong Jewish community in the future, and I am proud to be a member of the Foundation family. Connecting Jewish people struggling with addiction to their Jewish roots
The Max Ullmann Philanthropic Fund supported a new pilot program at Jewish Addiction Community Services (JACS) in response to the desire of Jewish addicts to connect to their Jewish roots.

Scholarship for Ethiopian Israeli Immigrants entering nursing studies
The Ruthie Ladovsky Endowment Fund supported a scholarship program for nurses in Bat Yam, an initiative aimed at empowering men and women of Ethiopian descent to gain employment in Israel.

"It was such a great opportunity for me to see, how with the support and encouragement of people who strongly believe in the abilities of this group of Ethiopian Olim to better themselves by learning a profession, and with a lot of hard work and determination on their part, these students can raise their status in society, as well as afford themselves and their families a better life. Through our few moments of casual conversation, I could sense their pride in being part of this program of further education."

Mitzvah Project planned by teens brings Chanukah joy to GTA seniors
Recently, B'nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy held a winning program which combined learning to make Norene Gilletz's signature latke and applesauce recipes from the chef herself, and celebrating Chanukah with members of the Healthy at Home program with food, dance and conversation.
