Message from the Chair

Lisa Draper

The Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto continues to help individuals and families support the causes they care about and achieve their philanthropic goals. We are excited to present this year’s Report to the Community, updating you on the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto’s vast array of transformative programs and initiatives, impact and success.

We recently celebrated our 13th year of our Book of Life program, honouring individuals and families who have partnered with the Jewish Foundation to ensure the Toronto Jewish community remains strong today and in to the future. I encourage you to read the inspiring collection of narratives that reveal the unique road to philanthropy travelled by each storyteller (click here).

We have much to celebrate and I look forward to our continued collective success.

WHY WE CHOSE THE JEWISH FOUNDATION

"To us, philanthropy is very much a “family affair”. And, since our family is actually comprised of four families plus our mother, there were many opinions as to the route we should take for our tzedakah before we came to a unanimous decision: The Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto. Once we learned about its diversity of giving options, the Foundation’s efficiency, low fees and terrific return, it quickly became the only option that made sense as far as we were concerned. And since our philanthropic choices come from our heart, as well as our head, everyone was excited to go with the Jewish Foundation which we all knew meant ensuring the ongoing strength and vibrancy of Toronto’s Jewish community, something we all care about very much. It’s a win-win situation!"
