Campaign 2011 Total to date: $53.9 million

UJA Campaign 2011 comes to a close

This past Tuesday, February 15, more than 450 community members came out to celebrate UJA's Campaign 2011 closing celebration. The evening featured addresses from Campaign 2011 Chairs Sherry Firestone and Jeff Rosenthal, Women's Philanthropy Chair Sarena Koschitzky, and Chair of Campaign Operations, Lisa Draper. Chair of the UJA Federation Board Elizabeth Wolfe paid gratitude to Sherry, Jeff, Sarena and Lisa for their leadership and dedication. The evening also honoured the entire UJA leadership team and Campaign 2011 award winners at both the main event and pre-reception, where they were thanked for their ongoing contribution to UJA's Campaign 2011.

The keynote speaker for the evening was Mike Reiss, writer and producer for the animated series The Simpsons. Reiss had the enthusiastic crowd laughing with his entertaining and unique anecdotes.

The Magen Boys promoted UJA's upcoming Walk with Israel Family Challenge and the crowd enjoyed the musical stylings of Daniel Sadowski and 2 friends he met on Birthright Israel this past November. Daniel's band The Little Black Dress sings the Campaign 2011 video song.

The evening emphasized the success of Campaign 2011. We welcome incoming Campaign Chairs Barbara Bank and Gil Palter, Chair of Women's Philanthropy Felicia Posluns, and Chairs of Campaign Operations Alison Himel and Lorne Goldstein. Here's to a successful 2012 Campaign!

Share Your Style

Women's Philanthropy Tikkun Olam Chairs, Karine Krieger, Shari Krieser and Lori Rosenthal have led a clothing drive over the past few months and are working with 30 volunteers to organize Share Your Style on March 27. Share Your Style, in collaboration with Jewish Vocational Service (JVS Toronto), will assist clients by providing much needed fashionable work and every day outfits and accessories. By outfitting these women in need, they will improve their confidence and self-image, contributing to greater success in all aspects of their lives. On March 27, Women's Philanthropy will also be providing childcare services, TTC tokens, and hair and make-up stylists.

For more information, to volunteer, or to donate clothing, please contact Jaime Walman | 416.631.5827.
