Telethons answer the call!
Telethons were a ringing success this week with more than $51,000 having been raised from 190 donors. This brings our 2010 telethon total to just under $4.9Million. We'll let you know as soon as the next set of telethons has been confirmed so you can join the fun while making a positive difference in the lives of our vulnerable!
Is there a doctor in the house? Plenty, actually!
On Tuesday, February 23 UJA's Maimonides Society and Young Health Professionals co-hosted an event at the home of Judith Laxer and Dr. Jeffrey Lipsitz. The guest speaker was Dr. Mark Gluck, Professor of Neuroscience, Rutgers University Newark
Director, Rutgers Memory Disorders Project. Dr. Gluck gave a presentation about memory – how it works, why it doesn't sometimes, and how to improve it, followed by an overview of the work that Rutgers University is doing with Al-Quds University with regards to Parkinsons.
We were pleased to see many familiar faces from the Maimonides Society as well as some new faces from the Young Health Professionals, our future UJA leaders. Yasher Koach to Maimonides Society chairs Bernie Green and Jeffrey Lipsitz.
